Orthopedics department at Sri Guru Ram Das Charitable Hospital, Amritsar is headed by Dr. Baljit Singh (Professor) and includes Dr. Shaleen Sareen (Associate Professor) and Dr. Chander Mohan Singh (Assistant Professor). Large number of outdoor patients are seen daily and outdoor procedures like plaster application, dressings, minor debridements and intra-articular injections are performed. Relevant cases are referred for physiotherapy.
There are 20 beds in the ward and 10 private rooms for patients admitted through emergency as well as OPD. Operations are performed in the orthopaedic operation theatre on daily basis. Various procedures such as replacement of hip knees and shoulder, arthroscopy including knee and shoulder, all types of trauma surgeries, hand surgeries and congental deformity corrections like CTEV are being performed routinely.
