Pediatrics

The Pediatric department of this hospital caters to patients not only from the walled city but also to patients from far flung villages of District Tarantaran, Patti Tehsil, Ajnala,Ramdas,etc.Because of its location in the heart of the city near Gurdawara Shaheedan Sahib, cutting across all religious barriers, it provides special care to the newborn babies as well as infants and older children. 

It has a 12 bedded ward where all kinds of patients are admitted. Pediatric emergencies like Status Asthmaticus, Seizures, Drug overdose and Poisoning, Trauma and other various kinds of emergencies are being attended 24*7.

We have a 5 bedded Level 2A Neonatal ICU that provides resuscitation and stability to Preterm and/or ill neonates.It provides care for newborns >37 weeks and weighing </= 1500 gms, who have physiologic immaturity like Apnea of prematurity, inability to maintain body  temperature,or inability to take feeds. Newborns with Neonatal jaundice requiring Phototherapy are also admitted here. It has an additional capability for CPAP also.
